Carpenter Ants
Inside carpenter ant nests will be found in windows, around doors, and in
moist or decaying wood. A key sign of these ants' presence in your home
are piles of "frass" that the ants have mined out of the wood while building
their nest. Often, these ants will enter a structure by utility and plumbing
lines and also through the eves. Outside the ants may be found in dead
trees, logs and rotten tree stumps.
Carpenter ant colonies are a medium sized colony with about 3,000
workers. Control is obtained by using baits and aerosols to locate and
destroy the ants nest.
